Season 1 Episode 22: Founder's Day Content Warning: Violence, Language, Innuendo The conclusion to the first season. Everything I wanted and more. Overall a satisfying conclusion: Stefan is still acting jealous about Damon Anna offers to turn Jeremy and says they can run away together. She gives him a vial of her blood to use if he wants but he says he won't use it Stefan tells Elena that John is her birth father Jeremy is still mad about Elena lying to him Damon thanked Bonnie for unspelling the device and said he owed her one.  John and the founders council plan to activate the device when the tomb vampires come for revenge Damon tells Jeremy to stop being rude to Elena. Stefan steps in to....help? John knocks out the sheriff because she doesn't want people in danger Anna tells Damon about the tomb vampires plan to attack. Damon tells everyone else Caroline is trying to fix Matt and Tyler's friendship John activates the device and all the vampires ...

Season 1 Episode 21: Isobel Content Warning: Language, Violence, Innuendo, Sexual Content  By the title of the episode you should know what the majority of the episode is about: John is Elena's birth father Isobel and John (and Katherine) want all the tomb vampires dead and Stefan and Damon as well in John's case. Also John has the device Bonnie unspelled the device but we end up finding out she lied about that Matt and Tyler are not on good terms because of what happened between Tyler and Matt's mom. Gosh I can't believe I just wrote that Isobel wanted to meet with Elena so she could tell her to get the device from Damon. She threatens people multiple times Jeremy is looking for Anna. He confronts Elena about the secrets Anna shows up in Jeremy's room and tells him everything (Pearl) Isobel regrets her choice to become a vampire and leave Alaric Isobel says Damon loves Elena. Damon confirms that to Stefan later on. Stefan is jealous Jeremy is kid...

Season 1 Episode 20: Blood Brothers Content Warning: Language, Violence, Innuendo Here are the plot points: John kills Pearl We see more of Stefan and Damon's backstory: They were killed by their father for associating with vampires. Stefan was also the one who forced Damon to feed and become a vampire when he didn't want to Stefan wants to die because of his belief that he is an awful person Damon and Alaric get a lead on Isobel but they track down (and eventually kill) a tomb vampire instead who was working for John John tells Elena that he knows that she knows about vampires John knows Damon has the device Elena does a lot to get through to Stefan and it works by the end of the episode Episode ends with Isobel coming up to Alaric at the bar The tomb vampires are annoying but personally I thought Pearl was a decent character. She just wanted a home and not hurt anyone. She did not deserve to die. But of course John had to kill her because he is just that a...

Season 1 Episode 19: Miss Mystic Falls Content Warning: Language, Innuendo, Violence This is one of my all time favorite episodes (especially in regards to my ship) but all of my favorite moments aside Stefan is not doing so well in this episode: Stefan seems like he is doing better but that is because he is downing a whole lot of human blood. He has a whole storage thing full of it Damon confronts Anna thinking she is taking all of this blood from the blood bank but she says it is not them. He figures out it is Stefan Bonnie is back and barely talks to Elena and won't look at Stefan Damon confronts Stefan about his new hobby but Stefan evades it. But then Damon catches him in the act Elena is participating in the Miss Mystic Falls pageant thing and Stefan will be escorting her Stefan refuses to acknowledge that he has a serious problem John is looking for Pearl so he can find something she took from Jonathan Gilbert Bonnie thinks her grandma died for nothing beca...

Season 1 Episode 18: Under Control Content Warning: Drinking, Language, Innuendo, Violence, Heavy Making Out Damon is encouraging Stefan to continue to drink human blood Elena's Uncle John shows up at the house. No one really likes him. I don't really like him Tyler and Jeremy have this weird bonding moment over the loss of Vicki John is a member of the Founder's Council and he reports blood missing from the blood bank. He is encouraging the hunt for vampires to resume Alaric tells Elena about Jeremy's interest in vampires and they talk a little about their interactions with vampires Jenna and John apparently slept together Elena asks Damon over to get information about Stefan but he is not forthcoming Elena tries to figure out how much Jeremy knows about vampires Everyone goes to this little founders party and Stefan is not doing so well. Season 1 Episode 17: Let the Right One In Content Warning: Language, Violence, Innuendo Here are our plot points:  Jeremy and Anna continue to talk about vampirism. Jeremy gives Anna his vervain bracelet but she gives it back. Pearl does not want her vampire group to focus on revenge Stefan gets attacked by the tomb vampires in the woods. They kidnap him and take him back to the house to torture him Damon and Elena are trying to find a way to get into the house and they enlist Alaric's help. He reluctantly agrees after Damon promises information on Isobel Jeremy is spending this whole time trying to convince Anna to turn him. He is saying she should turn him basically because of his "loner kid vibe" Pearl has a conversation with Mayor Lockwood in order to get more information Damon tells Elena she can't help with the rescue mission. But she does anyway and helps get Stefan out Caroline finds a body out in the woods--Vicki's body Pearl is angry ab...

Season 1 Episode 16: There Goes The Neighborhood Content Warning: Heavy Make Out Scenes, Drinking, Violence, Innuendo, Language I'm seriously gonna lose it with this episode. So here are the plot points: The group of vampires is feeding on the the owner of the house they are staying at. They clearly have no regard for human life.  Matt's mom is sticking around Pearl is helping people adjust to the modern world Caroline sets up a double date with her and Matt and Elena and Stefan Pearl visits Damon and asks him for information. She says she'll give him information on Katherine and help him find her. She threatens Damon when he refuses to help by punching her nails into his eyes Jeremy is talking with his online friends about vampires Pearl is trying to find a building and reinstate her apothecary Damon drinks with Matt's mom and Jenna The tomb vampires are starting to get antsy and fighting amongst themselves On the double date Caroline is feeling lef...

Season 1 Episode 15: A Few Good Men Content Warning: Language, Drinking, Multiple Sex Scenes but brief in duration, Violence As if you thought things couldn't get more confusing or the stakes get higher. Things are being put into place that we know are building into pretty big problems. This episode also was the worst with second hand embarrassment: There is a Bachelor Auction for fundraising. Damon and Alaric participate. Damon, after finding out who Alaric's wife is, starts to toy with Alaric. Hence the embarrassment  Damon is not taking the news about Katherine well. Although later on he starts to think that maybe Katherine sent Isobel to him  Isobel, Alaric's wife, was Elena's birth mother and we end up finding out Damon turned her into a vampire--at her request Matt's mom came back Isobel was obsessed with vampires back when she was human Damon killed Alaric but then Alaric came back to life. He attributes this to the ring that Isobel gave him Weird...

Season 1 Episode 14: Fool Me Once Content Warning: Language, Innuendo, Violence This episode is 45 minutes of absolute heartbreak and terror:  Ben is standing guard over Elena and Bonnie, who is also there Damon is upset because of Stefan and Elena lying to him so he refuses to cooperate to find Elena Stefan ends up saving Elena and Bonnie  Elena goes to talk to Damon to try to convince him that she will help him. She takes off her necklace to prove that she is not lying but he puts it back on saying he trusts her Everyone is working together to open the tomb--including Bonnie's grandma Jeremy invited Anna to a party: where she kisses him and then kidnaps him. Relationship goals Tyler and Jeremy are building a weird friendship Matt and Caroline are officially a thing but now they have a problem. Matt doesn't want to go public with their relationship Damon uses Elena as leverage and takes her with him into the tomb. Which is now open by the way Stefan burns...

Season 1 Episode 13: Children of the Damned Content Warning: Multiple Sexual Scenes, Violence, Language We learn about history and let me tell you it is not pleasant: The first scene from the past that we see is Katherine showing Damon how she hunts. A little gross but it does set the scene very well for how the relationship was between them.  We have a couple of sex scenes in this episode so just be aware Katherine has a friend named Pearl we hear about in this episode. Pearl has a daughter named Anna. As in the Anna that has been mentioned before Back in the day people were trying to find out about vampires by slipping vervain into things Ben is a new vampire Anna got the Gilbert journal Alaric and Stefan meet as a vampire and vampire hunter. Stefan gets all of this information as well as Alaric's copy of the journal In the past Damon and Stefan's dad tells them about vampires. Stefan later on tells his father that maybe not all vampires are bad prompting him...

Season 1 Episode 12: Unpleasantville Content Warning: Language and Violence This episode is aptly named: There is this sketchy pizza delivery guy who turns out to be a vampire who was using this tactic to get invited into the Gilbert home. It works Stefan gives Elena vervain jewelry to protect her friends and family  Elena gets a call from the guy who she hit with her car in the last episode. Who is also the pizza delivery guy Stefan gives Elena the Gilbert Watch Matt and Caroline finally kiss. After a whole lot of awkward incidents as well as insulting each other. Way to go. Elena's mom was a teenage runaway who Elena's adopted father helped delivered her baby. After the mom ran off Elena got adopted. Apparently her name was Isabelle. The same name as Alaric's wife--coincidence?  Stefan offers to help Damon release Katherine from the tomb in order to get him out of time. We end up finding out he is lying when he offers this. He doesn't want that tomb open...

Season 1 Episode 11: Bloodlines Content Warning: Innuendo, Violence, Language Damon finds and saves Elena then he takes her to Georgia to meet with his witch friend, Bree Stefan tries to get Bonnie to help him find Elena but it doesn't work because her powers are off (her grandma thinks that it is because of fear) Alaric came to apparently hunt vampires Jeremy meets a girl named Anna Also Elena DOES NOT have her necklace with her. She left it with Stefan when she ran off Damon and Elena have some "bonding." Anna hints about vampires being around in the 1860's Stefan saves Bonnie after she falls into a pit, trying to face her fears. She could feel the presence of the vampires sealed in the tomb Anna's ancestor wrote similar journals as Jeremy's ancestor Someone kidnaps Elena and then tries to kidnap Damon. Damon killed the guy's girlfriend who was Lexi Apparently Stefan and Bonnie's grandma knew each other back in the 1960's Damon...

Season 1 Episode 10: The Turning Point Content Warning: Language, Violence, Innuendo, Sex Scene There was A TON packed into this episode:  Logan is officially a vampire. His main goal is to figure out how he can be a so called "day-walker."  Stefan and Damon stick around to stop Logan  Matt and Caroline have more moments Jeremy is looking through the old Gilbert journals and found sketchy stuff about demons Alaric is kickbutt when he defends Jeremy Logan kidnaps Caroline but Damon and Stefan save her. Damon is about to kill Logan but doesn't when Logan says he knows another way to get into the tomb Matt admits he likes Caroline Alaric kills Logan Stefan and Elena have sex--after she admits she loves him Elena finds a picture of Katherine--who looks just like her--and Elena being freaked out runs away. When she is driving to who knows where she hits a person who appeared in the road. She see's the person get up and slowly amble towards her Stefan and...

Season 1 Episode 9: History Repeating Content Warning: Language, Violence, Innuendo The question of what exactly Damon is trying to accomplish is answered. But there are also more events that increase the suspense: Damon is trying to bring Katherine back using the crystal. Emily apparently used the crystal to magically protect Katherine (and other vampires) in the tomb beneath the church Stefan figures this ^^ out while having some "brotherly" moments with Damon (Absolutely hilarious!) Stefan is putting some distance between him and Elena basically saying he is leaving for her protection even though she finally agreed that she can be with him Alaric Saltzman is the new history teacher. Season 1 Episode 8: 162 Candles Content Warning: Language, Violence, Sexual Content (Mostly talking about Sex), Alcohol Use There are a lot of beginnings and endings in this episode. If you thought things couldn't get more sad or confusing you are very wrong:  Lexi, Stefan's oldest friend, comes into town for Stefan's birthday The chief of police (Caroline's mom) is trying to figure out if Vicki really left town Elena and Stefan are still broken up Bonnie's grandma tells Bonnie to keep the crystal on to protect her Jeremy is completely different after the compulsion  Damon gives the chief of police vervain Bonnie shows Elena that she has magic Damon uses Caroline to set up a party and to attempt to get the crystal back. Season 1 Episode 7: Haunted Content Warning: Language, Violence, Heavy Make Out Scenes, Drug References And the plot thickens:  Vicki tried to attack Tyler but Damon and Stefan stopped her Damon has the watch that Logan used to track vampires Stefan is doing his best to help Vicki adjust but she is a hard pupil Bonnie and her grandma talk about more witch stuff Damon overhears members of the founders council talking about vampires Damon does a little teaching of his own with Vicki which does not turn out so well Jeremy has a pity party about not being with Vicki Damon gets some information from Carol Lockwood about the founders council and hints to her that he knows about vampires Damon tries to take the crystal that Bonnie now has but it burns him (the crystal he took at the founders party) Vicki gets killed The crystal originally belonged to one of Bonnie's ancestors Jeremy is heartbroken about Vicki's death so Elena has Damon to compel him to forget Vi...

Season 1 Episode 6: Lost Girls Content Warning: Language, Drug Use, Violence, Innuendo, Sexual Content This episode was a roller coaster and left us on an incredibly huge cliffhanger. But that was not all that occurred in this episode:  Stefan tells Elena he is a vampire. He also tells her Damon is behind all of the attacks Damon kills and burns Vicki's drug friends Damon wants his ring back and threatens to hurt Elena if Stefan doesn't give it to him Logan got the Gilbert watch and uses it to fashion a vampire tracker of sorts Damon turns Vicki into a vampire  Damon kills Logan and Vicki feeds on him completing her transition Elena tells Stefan that they can't be together because of everything  The secret is out. Elena now knows that her boyfriend is a vampire. More than that the mysterious events she has started to link together have an explanation. Season 1 Episode 5: You're Undead to Me Content Warning: Language, Violence, Sex Scenes (Brief and implied), Drug, Alcohol, Innuendo  If you thought things couldn't get more dangerous or confusing you are very wrong. This episode increased the tension and the build up. Buckle up because here is the events that occurred in this episode:  Jeremy and Vicki are now a thing. They have had sex. (this is implied not really shown.) Towards the end of the episode they break up.  Some old guy recognizes Stefan--they knew each other in 1953 Stefan tells Elena about Katherine: Basically that he loved her and as a result he did some things he is not proud of. Season 1 Episode 4: Family Ties Content Warning: Language, Violence, Multiple Heavy Makeout Scenes, Innuendo This episode builds very well off the last one and seems to raise more questions than it answers. But per usual here is the list of plot points:  Damon is getting into Stefan's head which prompts Stefan to be more diligent in making a move Damon covers his tracks by convincing everyone that it was a mountain lion who killed all those people. He says it is because he wants to stay in Mystic Falls Logan (a reporter) and Jenna have a history and he is continually hitting on her Rings protect Damon and Stefan from the sun The love triangle is still continuing with Jeremy, Vicki, and Tyler Zach has a secret storage of vervain Bonnie tells Elena some information she heard about Katherine, Damon, and Stefan Stefan is trying to poison Damon  Damon tells Elena about the "original" Salvatore brothers and the burning of the church More weird stuff with Bo...

Season 1 Episode 3: Friday Night Bites Content Warning: Violence, Brief Almost Sex Scene (they take off their shirts), Language, Drug Talk, Alcohol Use Another episode! If you thought that the stakes were high before you'd better believe they have gotten exceptionally higher. As usual here is a list of the important events that have occurred in this episode.  Bonnie is wary of Stefan because of this vibe she got when she touched him in the last episode Stefan and Elena are officially dating Jeremy and Vicki are still having drama: Jeremy is asking if they just had sex because he gave her drugs.
