Season 1 Episode 12: Unpleasantville

This episode is aptly named:
  • There is this sketchy pizza delivery guy who turns out to be a vampire who was using this tactic to get invited into the Gilbert home. It works
  • Stefan gives Elena vervain jewelry to protect her friends and family 
  • Elena gets a call from the guy who she hit with her car in the last episode. Who is also the pizza delivery guy
  • Stefan gives Elena the Gilbert Watch
  • Matt and Caroline finally kiss. After a whole lot of awkward incidents as well as insulting each other. Way to go.
  • Elena's mom was a teenage runaway who Elena's adopted father helped delivered her baby. After the mom ran off Elena got adopted. Apparently her name was Isabelle. The same name as Alaric's wife--coincidence? 
  • Stefan offers to help Damon release Katherine from the tomb in order to get him out of time. We end up finding out he is lying when he offers this. He doesn't want that tomb open he just wants to be on the inside and have information. Elena agrees to help him. 
  • The sketchy vampire delivery guy tries to attack Elena. Stefan saves her but the guy escapes. As a result Stefan and Damon come to the school dance in order to protect her and hunt down the guy
  • Anna is trying to get the Gilbert journal. We also learn that she is a vampire. Anna is also working with the guy who is trying to hurt Elena. They both knew Katherine
  • Stefan kills the stupid vampire guy
  • Alaric asks Jenna out
  • Ben, a bartender, and Bonnie have this thing going on. We end up finding out that Ben is actually dating Anna or whatever and he is using Bonnie for some reason
The mystery of who the guy that Elena hit with her car is solved! We meet him and then he ends up dead at the end of the episode. But he does give some information and his existence reveals exactly the point of Anna's character. She wasn't just a love interest for Jeremy she is actually a vampire. And she wants the Gilbert journal which is apparently the key to finding out how to open up the tomb. Which everyone wants to do for some reason. Based on the flashbacks we have seen so far I don't really understand why--I am not a fan of Katherine. But all of that aside I do miss the camaraderie we gained between Damon and Elena. In this we don't get as much although we can sense a change in how they interact with each other. Elena is not as cold and hateful. I understand why she and Stefan have decided to trick Damon but at the same time it makes me kind of sad. Damon is so desperate to get the so called love of his life back that he wants to trust Stefan. He just wants her back so badly. 

Here is a quote Caroline says to Elena, "What is this, a threesome now? You and the Salvatore brothers?"

Season 2 Episode 10: The Sacrifice Content Warning: Violence (People's hearts are ripped out), Innuendo (implied sex), Language This episode is aptly named. Not the most depressing I've seen but well... you'll see: Luka's Dad steals some stuff from Elena's room Alaric and Jenna are progressing nicely Stefan and Damon are planning to steal the moonstone from Katherine. Elena isn't fond of that plan because she doesn't want to incur the wrath of Klaus so she wants to give herself up instead. Bonnie and Luka are bonding...ugh. Season 2 Episode 1: The Return Content Warning: Language, Innuendo, Violence,  Here we are at another season. And it sure does start out with a bang: Elena is able to save John and get him to a hospital Damon brings up the kiss to Elena and quickly finds out that it was Katherine not Elena Stefan tells John he has to leave or Stefan will turn him into a vampire Mason Lockwood who is Tyler's Uncle who showed up for the funeral Katherine shows up at the after event for the funeral pretending to be Elena Bonnie threatens Damon using her powers Bonnie tries to threaten Katherine but it doesn't work and Stefan has to save Bonnie Katherine tells Stefan she came back for him Katherine tells Damon (after a heavy make out session) that she never loved him and always preferred Stefan Damon goes to Elena's room and does some serious "we have a connection" stuff.
