S1 E15: A Few Good Men

Season 1 Episode 15: A Few Good Men

Content Warning: Language, Drinking, Multiple Sex Scenes but brief in duration, Violence

As if you thought things couldn't get more confusing or the stakes get higher. Things are being put into place that we know are building into pretty big problems. This episode also was the worst with second hand embarrassment:
  1. There is a Bachelor Auction for fundraising. Damon and Alaric participate. Damon, after finding out who Alaric's wife is, starts to toy with Alaric. Hence the embarrassment
  2. Damon is not taking the news about Katherine well. Although later on he starts to think that maybe Katherine sent Isobel to him
  3. Isobel, Alaric's wife, was Elena's birth mother and we end up finding out Damon turned her into a vampire--at her request
  4. Matt's mom came back
  5. Isobel was obsessed with vampires back when she was human
  6. Damon killed Alaric but then Alaric came back to life. He attributes this to the ring that Isobel gave him
  7. Weird vampire dude from the tomb named Harper escaped, killed someone, then found the place where Pearl and others had gathered.
  8. Elena met with Trudie who was her birth mothers friend who told her more about Isobel. Elena also figures out that Trudie knows about vampires. After Elena left this guy killed Trudie to keep her from revealing something. Probably that Isobel is alive.
  9. The same guy who killed Trudie found Elena and told her to stop looking then he stepped out into the road and got hit by a car
  10. Elena got the phone from the guy and called the last number. Isobel answered and then promptly hung up so it is confirmed that she is alive for sure
As if Elena's life couldn't get any more entrenched with the supernatural--her birth mother is a vampire. Damon finally didn't kill anyone! But he did act like it which was weird and annoying. AND he is still trying to find reasons that Katherine didn't abandon him. Even though all the signs point to the fact that she did. He needs to get over her and move on I swear. Isobel is someone I don't think I'm gonna be a fan of when I finally meet her. She became a vampire, cheated on her husband, and then left her husband. And Alaric has been wasting his life trying to find the vampire that killed her when she was alive the whole time. And she just indirectly killed her friend and that one guy. The whole Isobel problem aside (because we are definitely going to meet her) we now have a problem brewing with the vampires that escaped from the tomb. They are gathering together and I can't help but think this can't be a good thing. Harper is weird though cause he apologized and then killed that guy. I think he was sincere. Which is weirder than just outright killing him like Damon would have. I mean he didn't even have to kill the guy--but I guess it doesn't matter. I'm sure we will run into a lot more of Harper and then maybe I can figure out what the heck is going on with him.

Here is Damon's quote about his ridiculous hope for Katherine, "If she's related to Elena maybe she's related to Katherine and Katherine sent her to me. It can't be a coincidence that Isobel sought me out."
