Season 1 Episode 13: Children of the Damned

Content Warning: Multiple Sexual Scenes, Violence, Language

We learn about history and let me tell you it is not pleasant:

  1. The first scene from the past that we see is Katherine showing Damon how she hunts. A little gross but it does set the scene very well for how the relationship was between them. 
  2. We have a couple of sex scenes in this episode so just be aware
  3. Katherine has a friend named Pearl we hear about in this episode. Pearl has a daughter named Anna. As in the Anna that has been mentioned before
  4. Back in the day people were trying to find out about vampires by slipping vervain into things
  5. Ben is a new vampire
  6. Anna got the Gilbert journal
  7. Alaric and Stefan meet as a vampire and vampire hunter. Stefan gets all of this information as well as Alaric's copy of the journal
  8. In the past Damon and Stefan's dad tells them about vampires. Stefan later on tells his father that maybe not all vampires are bad prompting him to use Stefan to infect Katherine with vervain
  9. Damon comes over to Elena's house in order to ask her if he should really trust Stefan
  10. Alaric tells Stefan that Damon killed his wife but he doesn't want revenge as much as he wants answers. Stefan tells Alaric not to tell Damon
  11. Jeremy leads Damon to Anna who proposes and alliance. Damon turns her down. But he does find out where the grimoire is hidden. The grimoire is hidden with Damon and Stefan's father. Damon finds Elena and Stefan digging up the grimoire and gets angry.
  12. Anna was the one who turned Logan
  13. Bonnie figures out Ben is a vampire. He attacks her.
  14. Damon has the grimoire now
  15. Stefan recognizes Anna's name. But by the time he gets to Elena it is too late--Anna kidnapped her
There are two things that I thought about while watching this episode: Katherine is awful and Damon has the worst life. I should probably address the second one because that has the highest probability for disagreement. According to pretty much every single character in the show Damon deserves what is coming to him. He shouldn't get Katherine and he is just an awful person in general. But the horrible thing is that even though Damon has done awful things he was still incredibly hurt and betrayed by the fact that Stefan and Elena were lying to him. He wanted to trust them and that is the tragedy. Now to the other point: I legitimately hate Katherine. She was playing with both Damon and Stefan and it is really messed up. And the fact that Damon has been continually trying to get her back even though I doubt that she really cared about him. The whole situation just makes me feel incredibly sad for Damon. He needs to get over Katherine ASAP. All of that aside we do learn a little bit more about Alaric and little tid bits about who turned Logan. Thanks for that Anna we really needed more of that jerkface.

Elena tells Damon this, "Trust breeds trust. You have to give it to get it."

Season 2 Episode 10: The Sacrifice Content Warning: Violence (People's hearts are ripped out), Innuendo (implied sex), Language This episode is aptly named. Not the most depressing I've seen but well... you'll see: Luka's Dad steals some stuff from Elena's room Alaric and Jenna are progressing nicely Stefan and Damon are planning to steal the moonstone from Katherine. Elena isn't fond of that plan because she doesn't want to incur the wrath of Klaus so she wants to give herself up instead. Bonnie and Luka are bonding...ugh. Season 2 Episode 1: The Return Content Warning: Language, Innuendo, Violence,  Here we are at another season. And it sure does start out with a bang: Elena is able to save John and get him to a hospital Damon brings up the kiss to Elena and quickly finds out that it was Katherine not Elena Stefan tells John he has to leave or Stefan will turn him into a vampire Mason Lockwood who is Tyler's Uncle who showed up for the funeral Katherine shows up at the after event for the funeral pretending to be Elena Bonnie threatens Damon using her powers Bonnie tries to threaten Katherine but it doesn't work and Stefan has to save Bonnie Katherine tells Stefan she came back for him Katherine tells Damon (after a heavy make out session) that she never loved him and always preferred Stefan Damon goes to Elena's room and does some serious "we have a connection" stuff.
