Season 1 Episode 22: Founder's Day

The conclusion to the first season. Everything I wanted and more. Overall a satisfying conclusion:
  1. Stefan is still acting jealous about Damon
  2. Anna offers to turn Jeremy and says they can run away together. She gives him a vial of her blood to use if he wants but he says he won't use it
  3. Stefan tells Elena that John is her birth father
  4. Jeremy is still mad about Elena lying to him
  5. Damon thanked Bonnie for unspelling the device and said he owed her one.
  6. John and the founders council plan to activate the device when the tomb vampires come for revenge
  7. Damon tells Jeremy to stop being rude to Elena. Stefan steps in to....help?
  8. John knocks out the sheriff because she doesn't want people in danger
  9. Anna tells Damon about the tomb vampires plan to attack. Damon tells everyone else
  10. Caroline is trying to fix Matt and Tyler's friendship
  11. John activates the device and all the vampires are collapsing
  12. Tyler and Mayor Lockwood collapse too
  13. They take Anna and Damon to burn in the basement
  14. John staked Anna
  15. Then John lights the basement on fire
  16. They figure out that Bonnie lied
  17. Mayor Lockwood has his neck snapped by a vampire
  18. Tyler's eyes went all weird for a second
  19. Bonnie saves Damon by taking the fire down enough for Stefan to grab him
  20. Elena tell Stefan that he has nothing to worry about. She loves him
  21. Damon tells Jeremy that Anna's dead. He gives Jeremy the choice to have the pain takes away. Damon admits what he did to Vicki was wrong and apologizes to Jeremy
  22. Caroline got seriously hurt in a car accident
  23. Damon also gives Jeremy the worst pep talk ever prompting Jeremy to drink Anna's blood and try to commit suicide
  24. Bonnie says she'll kill Damon and Stefan if she has to
  25. Damon is struggling with his more "good guy" impulses
  26. Damon and Elena kiss. Psyche! It was Katherine
  27. Katherine also cut off John's fingers and stabbing him
WE HAVE REACHED THE SEASON FINALE. Whether you are excited or terrified for this ending here it is. The stakes have reached impossible heights and I think that this episode delivered a spectacular ending for the first season that makes me eager to jump into season 2. Stefan is acting all jealous and overprotective because of Damon's feelings out in the open but honestly I don't know why he has to act worried at all. Elena has no interest in Damon at this point so why does he have to do this whole Alpha male fight thing? Completely unnecessary. But in other news Elena now knows that John is her birth father which has got to be another huge disappointment. She really only has Jeremy and Jenna for family. And Jeremy is still being all whiny about her keeping this information from him. But can you blame her? Really? Jeremy was all "turn me into a vampire because my life sucks" not long ago so it was probably better that he was out of the loop. But all of the little problems aside the founders council activates the device when the tomb vampires come to kill people. And Damon and Anna are taken to the basement to burn with the rest of the vampires. Oh and Mayor Lockwood is apparently affected by the device even though he is not a vampire. I have a bad feeling about this since Tyler was affected too. Anna was killed which was awful--stupid John always having to ruin everything. Damon is saved though and he makes a really sweet gesture that does not turn out like he was intending. Also the mysterious Katherine has finally made an appearance and she sure did it with a bang. She kissed Damon and cut off John's fingers......season 2 here I come.
Damon says this to Elena that I love, "Somewhere along the way, you decided I was worth saving. I wanted to thank you for that."
