Season 1 Episode 4: Family Ties

This episode builds very well off the last one and seems to raise more questions than it answers. But per usual here is the list of plot points:

  1. Damon is getting into Stefan's head which prompts Stefan to be more diligent in making a move
  2. Damon covers his tracks by convincing everyone that it was a mountain lion who killed all those people. He says it is because he wants to stay in Mystic Falls
  3. Logan (a reporter) and Jenna have a history and he is continually hitting on her
  4. Rings protect Damon and Stefan from the sun
  5. The love triangle is still continuing with Jeremy, Vicki, and Tyler
  6. Zach has a secret storage of vervain
  7. Bonnie tells Elena some information she heard about Katherine, Damon, and Stefan
  8. Stefan is trying to poison Damon 
  9. Damon tells Elena about the "original" Salvatore brothers and the burning of the church
  10. More weird stuff with Bonnie
  11. Founder's Party
  12. Damon steals a crystal from the Founder's Party
  13. Damon and Elena fight after the she finds out that he's been hurting Caroline
  14. Stefan and Elena have their first fight
  15. Damon tries to kill Caroline, fails, and ends up being imprisoned instead
  16. The Founders Council needs the Gilbert pocketwatch for some reason. They also know about Vampires
I love Damon but he is a piece of work in this episode. But Stefan does get the upper hand in order to stop him from continuing to hurt Caroline. I do appreciate that. But despite that it still leaves the question of what exactly Damon is planning. Why did he need to steal that crystal that apparently he had put in their ages ago? Why does he need to stay in Mystic Falls in the first place? Despite the fact that he is safely imprisoned these questions keep piling up. In other news: Stefan and Elena had their first fight! Elena wants to know more about him and he was incredibly closed off. I'm glad they had this fight because it made more sense. Elena didn't just take his word for anything she pushes him for the truth. I love Elena. The whole episode ended with the Founders Council who basically admitted that they know about vampires. And they really want the pocketwatch for a reason. 

Damon says the best quote ever, "Some girls just can't resist my good looks, my style; my charm, and my unflinching ability to listen to Taylor Swift."

Season 2 Episode 10: The Sacrifice Content Warning: Violence (People's hearts are ripped out), Innuendo (implied sex), Language This episode is aptly named. Not the most depressing I've seen but well... you'll see: Luka's Dad steals some stuff from Elena's room Alaric and Jenna are progressing nicely Stefan and Damon are planning to steal the moonstone from Katherine. Elena isn't fond of that plan because she doesn't want to incur the wrath of Klaus so she wants to give herself up instead. Bonnie and Luka are bonding...ugh. Season 2 Episode 1: The Return Content Warning: Language, Innuendo, Violence,  Here we are at another season. And it sure does start out with a bang: Elena is able to save John and get him to a hospital Damon brings up the kiss to Elena and quickly finds out that it was Katherine not Elena Stefan tells John he has to leave or Stefan will turn him into a vampire Mason Lockwood who is Tyler's Uncle who showed up for the funeral Katherine shows up at the after event for the funeral pretending to be Elena Bonnie threatens Damon using her powers Bonnie tries to threaten Katherine but it doesn't work and Stefan has to save Bonnie Katherine tells Stefan she came back for him Katherine tells Damon (after a heavy make out session) that she never loved him and always preferred Stefan Damon goes to Elena's room and does some serious "we have a connection" stuff.
