S1 E16: There Goes The Neighborhood

Season 1 Episode 16: There Goes The Neighborhood

Content Warning: Heavy Make Out Scenes, Drinking, Violence, Innuendo, Language

I'm seriously gonna lose it with this episode. So here are the plot points:
  1. The group of vampires is feeding on the the owner of the house they are staying at. They clearly have no regard for human life.
  2. Matt's mom is sticking around
  3. Pearl is helping people adjust to the modern world
  4. Caroline sets up a double date with her and Matt and Elena and Stefan
  5. Pearl visits Damon and asks him for information. She says she'll give him information on Katherine and help him find her. She threatens Damon when he refuses to help by punching her nails into his eyes
  6. Jeremy is talking with his online friends about vampires
  7. Pearl is trying to find a building and reinstate her apothecary
  8. Damon drinks with Matt's mom and Jenna
  9. The tomb vampires are starting to get antsy and fighting amongst themselves
  10. On the double date Caroline is feeling left out. But later on Matt assures her that her feelings stem from insecurity not reality
  11. Anna is visiting Jeremy and he tries to bait her into admitting she is a vampire. She is avoiding the topic
  12. One of the vampires calls Elena Katherine putting her and Stefan on alert
  13. Matt and Stefan are bonding
  14. Damon and Matt's mom flirt and eventually make out. I can't believe I actually just typed this.
  15. Jeremy cuts his hand in order to prove Anna is a vampire. And he lets her feed off him. And he's excited about it. Yet another thing I can't believe I'm typing right now
  16. Jenna almost gets killed by the stupid tomb vampire dude
  17. Two of the tomb vampires attack Stefan and Damon but only one gets away. The other is killed. Pearl punishes the guy who escapes
  18. Anna admits to Jeremy she is a vampire. Jeremy was first curious because he wants to know more about Vicki. He wants Anna to turn him
I'm not even gonna talk about Damon and Matt's mom, I'm just going to leave it at I think it is nasty. And I will never think about it again if I can help it. The other big idiotic move in this episode is Jeremy and I almost think it is worse than the incident we shall not mention again. He hears about vampires for the first time and then decides it is a smart idea to not only bleed in front of a vampire but then ask the vampire to turn him. It's hard to forget that he is still a 15 year old boy. I've never been a 15 year old boy but I can still tell you that is the STUPIDEST idea in history! Sure I had my moments where I was obsessed with Twilight and wanted to be a vampire but I never would have been stupid enough to actually ask for it. I don't know maybe it is because I am looking at it from an older perspective and I would have been that stupid. The bottom line is Jeremy even suggesting it is stupid. On less frustrating subjects the tomb vampires are definitely going to become a problem. They have already made it clear that human life means nothing to them as well as adding Stefan and Damon to their hit list. I will end this with a lighter topic: the double date. Honestly I related to Caroline a lot. Most people have that one friend that seems to do everything right. And you just feel inadequate next to them as if you can't measure up in any respect. However she does have Matt to reassure her bless his soul.
Here is a quote of what Caroline says to Elena, "You don't get it, and why would you? You're everyone's first choice."
