Season 1 Episode 14: Fool Me Once

Content Warning: Language, Innuendo, Violence

This episode is 45 minutes of absolute heartbreak and terror: 

  1. Ben is standing guard over Elena and Bonnie, who is also there
  2. Damon is upset because of Stefan and Elena lying to him so he refuses to cooperate to find Elena
  3. Stefan ends up saving Elena and Bonnie 
  4. Elena goes to talk to Damon to try to convince him that she will help him. She takes off her necklace to prove that she is not lying but he puts it back on saying he trusts her
  5. Everyone is working together to open the tomb--including Bonnie's grandma
  6. Jeremy invited Anna to a party: where she kisses him and then kidnaps him. Relationship goals
  7. Tyler and Jeremy are building a weird friendship
  8. Matt and Caroline are officially a thing but now they have a problem. Matt doesn't want to go public with their relationship
  9. Damon uses Elena as leverage and takes her with him into the tomb. Which is now open by the way
  10. Stefan burns Ben alive--like ya do
  11. Bonnie and her grandma drop the seal on the tomb but left it so vampires couldn't get out but once Stefan goes in to save Elena, Bonnie wants to drop it completely
  12. Katherine is not in the tomb
  13. Bonnie's grandma is wiped out because of the spell and later dies
  14. Jeremy is starting to figure out that vampires might be real
  15. Katherine apparently escaped before she even got to the tomb and knew Damon was looking for her but she didn't care
  16. The blood that Damon spilled on the walls strengthened the other vampires so they could escape
The ultimate goal that Damon has been working towards since he got turned into a vampire has finally come to a close. And to be honest it is heartbreaking. The look of complete devastation on his face when he finds out that not only did she escape but she knew he was looking for her and did not care. Imagine loving someone so much and then finding out that they really didn't care about you. And now he doesn't want to care about anyone or anything else. Say what you want about Damon but this whole situation is awful. But on the plus side Ben is dead so we don't have to deal with his crap anymore. We also had more Damon and Elena moments in this episode. The one moment where she takes off her necklace but then he puts it back on because he trusts her. And he also tells her why he didn't compel her when they went on their little trip to Georgia. I wanted it to be real." is what he said. You'd better believe I swooned. But my absolute favorite moment in this episode was after Damon, Stefan, and Elena get out of the tomb. Damon is walking in a daze and you can see his heart breaking and the truth settling in. Elena goes and makes sure he is okay. She hugs him (see gif) to give him the comfort he needs. But while all of this major stuff is going on there are little things as well. Anna got her mom, Pearl, out of the tomb. And clearly a whole bunch a vampires probably followed because of the blood. So that is a problem. Jeremy and Anna....I don't even know what to say about them. I am not a fan of them as a couple so the fact that they kissed means nothing to me. But because of her Jeremy is starting to suspect that vampires might not be so fictitious. So thanks for that Anna, Elena will be thrilled. We had another depressing death in this episode and it was not Ben. Bonnie's grandma who has been this background absolutely kick butt character died in this episode. Like Lexi, she was not a major character but her scenes made a mark on me. I adored her character. 

Here is the quote I mentioned above that Damon says to Elena, "I didn't compel you in Atlanta because we were having fun. I wanted it to be real. I'm trusting you. Don't make me regret it."

Season 2 Episode 10: The Sacrifice Content Warning: Violence (People's hearts are ripped out), Innuendo (implied sex), Language This episode is aptly named. Not the most depressing I've seen but well... you'll see: Luka's Dad steals some stuff from Elena's room Alaric and Jenna are progressing nicely Stefan and Damon are planning to steal the moonstone from Katherine. Elena isn't fond of that plan because she doesn't want to incur the wrath of Klaus so she wants to give herself up instead. Bonnie and Luka are bonding...ugh. Season 2 Episode 1: The Return Content Warning: Language, Innuendo, Violence,  Here we are at another season. And it sure does start out with a bang: Elena is able to save John and get him to a hospital Damon brings up the kiss to Elena and quickly finds out that it was Katherine not Elena Stefan tells John he has to leave or Stefan will turn him into a vampire Mason Lockwood who is Tyler's Uncle who showed up for the funeral Katherine shows up at the after event for the funeral pretending to be Elena Bonnie threatens Damon using her powers Bonnie tries to threaten Katherine but it doesn't work and Stefan has to save Bonnie Katherine tells Stefan she came back for him Katherine tells Damon (after a heavy make out session) that she never loved him and always preferred Stefan Damon goes to Elena's room and does some serious "we have a connection" stuff.
